When informed in kindergarten that tree trunks could be only brown, pure contrariness to this direction spurred a career in art. Initially, Theresa’s interest was in drawing and she studied privately throughout primary school. Theater was also an interest and she received a BA in Theater from Butler University in Indianapolis in 1971.

She started making jewelry in 1985 and in addition to metal, created pieces in papier mache and poured resin. Her jewelry has been sold in Henri Bendel, New York; Barney’s, New York; Harrod’s, London; Sculpture to Wear, Los Angeles; and St. Louis Museum of Art.

She has also designed for major fine fashion jewelry manufacturers including Crystal Legends, Peter Brams and Jacmel Jewelry.

Her aesthetic currently involves the figurative, mixing nature and mythical themes.
